Engineering / ManufacturingWe’re working on behalf of a long-established and reputable manufacturing business based in Bath, who are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to join their on-site engineering team on a temporary basis for 8-12 months.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance to take on a varied role involving fault finding, machinery repair, installations, and site maintenance.
The Role:
As part of the maintenance department, you’ll be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and upkeep of a range of machinery, equipment, and facilities. The role offers exposure to both mechanical and electrical systems and would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with the opportunity to continually develop their technical skills.
Key Duties:
- Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
- Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical faults
- Assisting with machine installation, upgrades, and fabrication work
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on completed jobs
- Working with engineers and team leads to resolve production issues
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 07:00 – 16:00 or 07:30 – 16:30 Monday - Thursday and Fridays 07:00-12:00 or 07:30 - 12:30
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
- Time-served or apprentice-trained in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics (desirable)
- Confident working from technical drawings and following structured procedures
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
- Able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- IT literate with basic understanding of Outlook, Word, and Excel
