Gardener and Grounds Maintenance Worker

Full Time, Permanent

£25,500pa

Do you have experience within horticulture and working with maintenance tools, like mowers, trimmers, and hedge cutters? Are you a hard worker with a willingness to learn? Then this might be the role for you!

Our client is looking for a Gardener and Ground Maintenance Worker to join their team full-time and permanently. The successful candidate will support the team with gardening and general maintenance of public spaces.

Travel around the local area is required, so a full, clean driving license is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring plant health
• Watering, weeding and feeding plants
• Assist with the design and planting schemes
• Planting flower beds and handling baskets
• Undertake general repairs, cleaning and maintenance of public property
• Maintain recreational areas, including cutting and weeding, using appropriate equipment
• Check the safety of play and sports equipment
• Cover duties of Park Warden during periods of sickness
• Assist in the preparation of community events

Skills & Experience:

• Previous horticulture experience is highly desirable
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance essentiall
• Experience in using general maintenance tools, mowers, strimmers, hedge cutter etc.
• Excellent verbal communication abilities

This position is working 37 hours per week 5 days over 7 so some occasional weekend working is needed
