Quantity Surveyor (Intermediate Level)

Location: Galway office

Salary: €55,000 – €70,000 per annum, depending on experience

Role level: Approximately 3–7 years of quantity surveying experience

Employment: Permanent, full-time

The Opportunity

A well-established Galway-based contractor is seeking an Intermediate Level Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The role offers involvement in construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects and will suit a commercially capable QS who wants to develop within a varied contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor procurement, tender comparisons and package recommendations.
• Prepare valuations, variation assessments, cost reports and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance against budgets.
• Review drawings, specifications and contractual documentation to identify commercial issues.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to resolve commercial matters.
• Support tender pricing, measurement and pre-construction activities where required.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or construction economics.
• Typically three to seven years of contractor-side quantity surveying experience.
• Experience in commercial building, refurbishment or fit-out works desirable.
• Good measurement, subcontract administration and cost management skills.
• Strong Excel capability and clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work from the Galway office and visit sites as needed.
