Role: Project Engineer (Fire Protection)
Location: Cork

Salary: Competitive, DOE
Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Our client is an internationally recognised fire protection systems specialist. They are recruiting a Project Engineer to join their Cork team, working with Project Engineers, Technical Design Leads, clients and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget. The role reports to the Regional Contract Lead.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and track fire protection projects from start to finish
• Act as the link between engineers, architects and stakeholders, interpreting design intent and feeding back comments
• Run regular coordination meetings across disciplines
• Work with design teams to bring structural designs into project models, and resolve design clashes
• Keep design records, changes and updates in Revit, and produce reports and schedules from the models
• Develop project plans, programmes and budgets with management
• Manage resources, milestones and progress, and report status to stakeholders
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to keep materials and equipment arriving on time
• Spot risks early and deal with them before they affect delivery
• Make sure work meets company procedures and quality standards
• Take part in design reviews, give technical guidance and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• 2+ years in project engineering or a related field
• 2+ years of fire and sprinkler experience
• Strong technical knowledge of fire protection system design and installation
• Degree in engineering or a related discipline preferred
• Revit and BIM experience
• MS Project or similar project management software
• Solid planning, organisation and resource management
• Clear communicator with clients, project teams and senior management
• Able to work on your own and as part of a team
