Role: Financial Benefits Analyst - SC

Location: London (2 days/week on site)

IR35: Inside

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: £600/day (Umbrella) MAX

Security Clearance: SC

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years Benefits, Business and Financial Analysis experience gained in both the Public and Private Sectors
  • Excellent financial and non-financial analysis skills
  • Excellent business analysis skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong facilitation skills - in order to support the business in defining the non-financial and financial assumptions and parameters / constraints of different programme / project proposals.
  • Proven experience of working with and managing business stakeholders
  • Strong ‘cause and effect’ analysis skills and experience
  • Proven experience of Business Case, Benefits & Financial Management capability in a large organization
  • An Accounting qualification or experience, which can display a sufficient knowledge of financial modelling, financial analysis and value-based management expertise.

The Role:

This is an important role within the Transforming Data Collection Programme reporting to the TDC Programme Business Case and Benefits Realisation Lead.

  • Work with the business areas to identify the potential measurable non-financial and financial benefits and new operating costs that will arise as a result of the implementation of the deliverables of the TDC Programme and its constituent projects / workstreams
  • Provide robust financial management of benefits and dis-benefits in the TDC Programme Business Case
  • Support the Business Case & Benefits Realisation Lead in the development of the updated Business Case for the next stages of the TDC Programme
  • Support Benefits Realisation Management for the next stage of the TDC Programme and possibly other Programmes and Projects across the Data and Analytics Division, including identification, quantification, baselining, planning, tracking and reporting of benefits and operating costs, (including the maximisation of benefits realisation) which are critical to successful programme and project delivery.

Minimum Experience

You know:

  • How to work with business and industry stakeholders, particularly how to sell the importance of Business Cases, Benefits Management, Value Management and Financial Management, including communicating on the insights and actions that your work delivers.
  • How to facilitate workshops and other meetings to baseline current costs, forecast future benefits, dis-benefits and costs, and review if those costs and benefits are realised.
  • How to identify Business Management Information (MI) and Data, that can be used to baseline and track actual non-financial and financial benefits realisation
  • How to identify and work with ‘Benefits’ and ‘Operating Cost Owners’ so that they are accountable for the costs and benefits numbers they own.
  • How to create and maintain key Benefits Management artefacts, such as: Benefits Maps, Benefits Calculation Models, Benefits & Operating Cost Profiles, Benefits Tracking Models and Benefits Realisation Plans
  • How to develop financial business models
  • How to undertake sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling
  • How to track actual benefits realisation performance against those models and benefit forecasts.

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of Business Financial planning and financial sanctioning procedures
  • Proven experience of working within a change environment and change management techniques, including the ability to make new contacts
  • Proven experience of working in a finance environment and a good working knowledge of financial accounting techniques

Desirable Skills

You may know:

  • Working knowledge of performance measurement within the public and private sectors
  • A lot about accounting, potentially since you hold an accounting qualification or have relevant accounting experience.
  • A lot about Value Based Management
