Role: Senior Design Engineer –SC

Location: Aldermaston, Reading (100% on site)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £59.03/hr (Umbrella) MAX

Duration: 18 Months initially

Security Clearance: SC cleared & Uk nationality

As a Senior Design Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

• To ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
• To ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle.
• To ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
• Elevating areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.
• Liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
• Reviewing and checking Design Engineers work.
• Monitoring and assessing competence of Design Engineers in relevant discipline area.

Essential:

• Experience as a Senior Design Engineer.
• Experience of structural engineering.
• A full understanding of relevant Engineering Standards.
• Experience working with pressure equipment.
• Good stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in the Nuclear sector.
• Experience of Design Change Notices (DCN).
• Previous experience dealing with suppliers to get parts manufactured.
• Experience in seismic design engineering.
• Ideally, hold active SC Clearance.
