Job Description

Role: Data Analyst

Contract Length: 9 Months

Location: Manchester (Hybrid/onsite 2-3 days/week)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £449/day

 

Minimum Requirement:

  • Must be based within a commutable distance from Manchester
  • 2/3 times per week on site (non negotiable)
  • Candidate must have resided and worked in the UK for 3 years or more to qualify for NPPV

Top essential experience/skills

  • Experienced data purist – can understand/manage high volumes of data.
  • Data Analyst skills including:

 

  • Structured Query Language writing in a variety of complex schemas, datasets, and systems
  • Data cleansing and preparation
  • Enterprise Data Management
  • Data modelling and data governance
  • Hypothesis and scenario testing
  • Data analysis and exploration
  • Statistical knowledge and programming
  • Creating statistical data visualizations
  • Creating dashboards and reports
  • Documentation authoring and communication
  • Policing Domain data knowledge
  • Problem solving and solution development.
  • Data Quality and Continuous Improvement
  •  
  • Eligible for NPPV 3 and resides in Greater Manchester/Northwest area.
    • Has lived and worked in UK continuously for at least the last 3 years.

The Role:

  • To support the programme through the provision of data analysis services across all projects as required.
  • To develop a detailed technical understanding of all data across operational policing data repositories and all legacy data stores and data warehouses

To contribute to the enterprise data strategy through the creation of key data documentation, including:

  • Data Dictionaries
  • Data Catalogues
  • Data Architecture
  • Business Data Model
  • Logical Data Model

This includes the following key activities/workstreams in the Programme:

  • Analyse data in all key operational systems and develop documentation that describes all data objects and their operational function
  • Develop the data dissemination diagram for all systems involved in the delivery of operational data
  • Data Quality improvement through the analysis of data management practices and identification of improvement initiatives in areas of data cleansing, data integration and data quality assurance
  • Prepare data migration pathways between existing legacy systems and long-term strategic data stores
  • Examine the source of low-quality data and data defect problems and develop solutions that improve data quality in all key operational systems
  • Create data dictionaries and data catalogues for key systems and integrations

The following products will be generated:

  • Develop the Data Migration pathway for the Policeworks/Corvus integration
  • Data Dictionary for all DPP operational policing systems
  • Data Catalogue for DPP operational policing systems
  • Data Quality Dashboard for key and critical operational systems
  • Data landscape diagrams to describe the movement of data between systems and to become a component element of the wider enterprise data architecture

 

Security Clearance:

  • NPPV3 from client – takes 6-8 weeks
