Role:  Dari / Pashto Interpreter 

Location: London, Whitehall (Full time role.1-3 days/week on site)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £300-350/day (Umbrella) MAX

Duration: 31.08.2024 with high possibility to extend.

Security Clearance: Eligible for SC

The Role:

Assignment Background

As an Interpreter you will play a pivotal role in facilitating effective written communication between staff and our customers who speak Dari and / or Pashto.

Your exceptional language proficiency, cultural sensitivity, and strong interpersonal skills will be instrumental in bridging linguistic gaps, enabling successful written interactions with customers, and case work resolution.

Minimum Requirement:

• Lives in commutable distance from Office
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Dari and / or Pashto, demonstrated through formal education or professional experience.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to various speaking styles.
• Cultural Awareness: Deep understanding of cultural differences and sensitivities, with a strong commitment to promoting cross-cultural understanding.
• Knows formal documentation to recognise if genuine.
• Knowledge of military units/locations in Afghan would be highly desirable.
• Professional Experience: Proven experience in interpretation services is desirable.
• Technology Aptitude: Familiarity with Microsoft and willingness to learn how to use the other platforms.
• Punctuality and Reliability: A track record of punctuality and dependability
