Work Type: Full time, Monday – Friday (18:30 – 03:30)

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Nightshift Supervisor to oversee nightshift transport and cargo operations for our client. Reporting to the Transport and Operations Manager, this role is responsible for supervising drivers and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while maximising resource utilisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise drivers (client, agency, and sub-contractors), ensuring compliance with operational procedures, load security, and Dangerous Goods regulations.

  • Take full responsibility for nightshift transport operations, acting as the main point of contact during shift hours.

  • Ensure all vehicles, loads, and documentation meet legal and company compliance standards prior to departure.

  • Oversee yard operations and cargo marshalling in line with vessel schedules and planning systems.

  • Maximise fleet utilisation by improving efficiency and reducing idle time and empty running.

  • Deploy resources effectively across operations, arranging cost-efficient call outs when required.

  • Work closely with planners to align nightshift priorities and ensure accurate job allocation to drivers.

  • Monitor operational performance, resolve issues promptly, and recover any missed chargeable work.

  • Provide hands-on operational support when required (e.g. artic/tug master driving), holding relevant licences.

  • Manage the duty phone and deliver clear, concise end-of-shift handovers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • LGV Class 1 License

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications / Competencies

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
