We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a growing Managed IT Services provider based in Aberdeen who are looking to add a Commercial Executive to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in sales support, internal account management, or commercial coordination within the technology sector who enjoys working with customers and translating business needs into practical IT solutions. The role sits between sales and technical teams, supporting the commercial process by understanding client requirements, preparing professional proposals, and helping guide customers through technology decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement
- Engage with prospective and existing clients to understand their business needs and objectives.
- Ask insightful questions to uncover the real requirements behind client requests.
- Build strong client relationships and act as a reliable point of contact.
Quotes & Proposals
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals for IT services, hardware, software licensing, and project work.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to confirm scope, pricing, and solution details.
- Ensure proposals are clear, structured, and easy for clients to understand.
Sales Process Support
- Track opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Follow up with clients after proposals are issued.
- Support customers through the decision-making process by answering questions and providing clarification.
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with engineers to gather technical information required for proposals.
- Ensure key details from the sales process are clearly documented.
- Assist with the smooth handover from sales to delivery once work is approved.
CRM & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, and customer communications within internal systems.
- Ensure commercial documentation is organised and up to date.
Minimum Competencies:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer-facing commercial role within the technology sector and enjoy working collaboratively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

- Confident speaking with customers and understanding their business challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised and detail-oriented when preparing proposals and documentation.
- Proactive in managing opportunities and maintaining momentum in the sales process.
- Comfortable translating technical concepts into clear business language.
With the below experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in a commercial, sales support, or customer-facing role within the technology sector.
- Experience preparing quotes, proposals, or commercial documentation.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to engage with customers via phone, email, and video calls.
Desirable Competencies:
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT solutions company.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 licensing.
- Knowledge of business IT solutions such as cloud services, cybersecurity, backup, and networking.
- Experience using CRM/PSA systems (particularly ConnectWise PSA).
- Exposure to hardware procurement and technology pricing.
