Inventory Counting & Reconciliation Specialist

Job Purpose:
ASCO Workforce Solutions are seeking an Inventory Counting & Reconciliation Specialist to join its UK operations on a 6-month contract. This role will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of vendor held and company managed inventory across drilling, completions, and project activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in consolidating Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, auditing material condition, and supporting disposal processes, while acting as a SAP resource for the department.
Roles & Responsibilities
General
- Conduct initial audits of vendor-held inventory.
• When directed, integrate vendor inventory into the material management system.
• When directed, consolidate Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs across projects and drilling & completions into the system.
• Participate in material condition and storage practices to ensure compliance and integrity.
• Participate in scrapping and disposal of surplus or obsolete materials as directed.
• Participate in the annual stock count and visit all third-party storage locations as directed.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and recommend improvements.
• Participate in departmental process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives as requested.
• Participate in monthly Scrap/Repair review meetings as directed.
• Act as SAP Super User, assisting colleagues with system queries and troubleshooting.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours)
- Drilling & Completions Inventory Knowledge
• Strong understanding of drilling materials, tubulars, downhole tools, and completions equipment.
• Experience reconciling vendor held drilling inventory and supporting Vendor Management Inventory programs.
• Familiarity with offshore and onshore drilling operations and associated material flows.
• ERP Systems & SAP Super User Capability.
• Advanced SAP skills, including inventory modules and reporting.
• Inventory Management & Audit Skills
• Proven track record in conducting stock counts, audits, and reconciliations.
• Experience in identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
• Knowledge of UK oil & gas industry standards and internal compliance requirements.
• Ability to support departmental process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with vendors, supply chain, finance, and operations teams.
• Clear reporting and presentation of audit/reconciliation findings
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
- Experience working within materials management
• Plant maintenance / engineering background
• Supply chain and logistics experience
HSSEQ
- In partnership with the HSSEQ department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations, and industry standards/codes.
• Reports all incidents or breaches of policy or regulations to the line manager.
• Fully endorse the clients ‘Stop the Job’ policy and commitment to proactive intervention where an unsafe act or condition is observed.
• Adherence to the clients integrated management system ensuring document control and improvements to key processes is maintained.
