Trainee Recruitment Consultant / Recruitment Consultant

Location: Aberdeen

ASCO Workforce Solutions are currently recruiting for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant / Recruitment Consultant to join our Aberdeen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or further develop their career in recruitment within a well-established workforce solutions business.

Working under the guidance of the Recruitment Team Leader, you will support the recruitment team across permanent and contract recruitment activities, contractor administration, and compliance processes. This role is ideal for someone keen to develop core recruitment and resourcing skills while delivering a high level of service to clients, candidates, and contractors.


Key Responsibilities

General

  • Promote a positive ASCO Workforce Solutions brand through professional, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery

  • Support candidate generation through targeted searches using internal databases, job boards, and social media platforms

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and contractors through regular communication

  • Assist with managing candidate pipelines and availability

  • Support client requirements and recruitment account activity

  • Maintain and accurately update the Candidate Management System / database

  • Assist with market research, including monitoring roles, rates, and industry trends

  • Attend client open days and industry events when required

Recruitment & Resourcing Support

  • Assist with advertising vacancies and drafting job adverts

  • Format CVs and prepare candidate profiles for client submission

  • Organise and coordinate interviews between candidates and clients

  • Support contractor onboarding, including contract documentation in line with QMS procedures

  • Carry out verification of qualifications, references, and right-to-work documentation

Contractor Administration & Payroll Support

  • Support the processing of contractor timesheets for PAYE workers

  • Assist with contractor payroll administration, ensuring accuracy and timely submission

  • Support the engagement and administration of contractors, including compliance checks

  • Liaise with contractors to resolve timesheet, payroll, and administrative queries

  • Maintain accurate contractor records in line with company and legislative requirements

On-Call

  • Participate in an on-call rota as and when required to support contractor and client needs outside of standard working hours


What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • A strong interest in recruitment or resourcing

  • Willingness to learn and develop within a recruitment environment

Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

  • Professional and confident approach when dealing with candidates and clients

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, candidates, and contractors

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Proactive, reliable, and willing to take ownership of tasks

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems

  • High levels of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality

  • Commitment to personal development and career progression within recruitment

  • Previous experience in recruitment, resourcing, administration, or customer service

  • Experience using ATS / CRM systems (e.g. Tracker)

  • REC Certificate in Recruitment Resourcing (CertRR) or willingness to work towards it
