We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Trainee Logistics Operative to support heli-freight and warehouse operations at their Dyce facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to begin or further their career within logistics, working in a fast-paced environment supporting offshore and aviation-related freight movements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling of materials through the heli-freight receipt point and warehouse.
Receipt, screening, and manifesting of freight in line with operational procedures.
Verifying delivered materials against documentation and investigating any discrepancies.
Actioning material requests and updating internal systems accurately.
Maintaining high housekeeping standards across warehouse and operational areas, including checks on vehicles and forklifts.
Accurate data input, retrieval, and reporting using computerised systems.
Liaising with customers and heliport representatives regarding material movements.
Ensuring aviation security standards are upheld at all times.
Safe operation of forklifts and lifting equipment.
Loading and unloading vehicles in accordance with HSE and operational guidelines.
Booking UK deliveries with subcontractors and supporting associated finance administration.
Performing freight and cargo handling duties safely and efficiently.
Driving duties, including collection and delivery of mail and parcels.
Providing a professional, positive service to customers and stakeholders.
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
Supporting safe, efficient, and effective warehouse operations.
Valid driving licence.
Ability to provide 5 years of traceable work or education history (required for CAA-level security clearance).
Customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Solutions-oriented, motivated, and committed to continuous improvement.
Capable of working independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
Computer literate, particularly within the Microsoft suite.
Understanding of manual handling practices.
Awareness of equality and diversity principles.
Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
Report all incidents or policy breaches to the line manager.
Proactively intervene where unsafe acts or conditions are observed (“Stop the Job”).
Adhere to the client’s management systems, processes, and document control requirements.
