UHP Jetting Operative / Yard Operative

This role is for our client who specialises in the decontamination of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM).

This role presents an exciting opportunity to develop a career with the client at a key point where the focus is on upskilling personnel and introducing innovative technological solutions to enhance the productivity and service offering to our client base, at a time where decommissioning activities are actively growing.

This is part of a small close-knit team which reports to the Operations Manager. The primary purpose of this role is to safely clean NORM contaminated equipment in line with relevant legislation, company procedures, and manufacturer’s guidelines.

We would also consider a trainee for this position. The role operates on a 9-day fortnight, giving every second Friday off.

Roles & Responsibilities for this role include:

• Ultra High-Pressure Jetting of offshore equipment and operating the automated tubular process.
• Forklift operations: loading, unloading and transferring equipment.
• Manual handling.
• Stripping down materials and reducing them in size to facilitate cleaning (includes valves and other oil and gas equipment).
• Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities, both documented and computerised.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained in accordance with operating procedures.
• Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping at all times.
• Participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes, and cost effectiveness.
• Continuously engaging in the pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring full participation and compliance.
• Proactively assisting colleagues and undertaking ad hoc duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
• Counterbalance Forklift
• UHP Water Jetting Certification
• Abrasive Wheels / HAV Certification
• Hot Cutting Certificate

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
• Minimum Industry Safety Training Standard (MIST)
• Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
• Multi-directional Forklift (5 Tonnes)
• Experience of oil and gas industry
• Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)

This role will be ideally suited to a safety-focused individual who has some mechanical aptitude and previous experience in UHP Water Jetting, and who is seeking the opportunity to develop and progress within the company.

Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do at the client, including wearing the appropriate PPE. It is a requirement to be clean shaven whilst wearing protective respirator masks during jetting operations.
