Reporting to the General Counsel, the role will participate in the Governance Strategy of the Group and play an active part in the legal, insurance and compliance advice associated with current and future markets and geographies. This role will include the management and development of members of the Legal & Compliance team.
General
• Participate in the Governance Strategy of the Group.
• Provide legal, insurance and compliance advice associated with the Group's current and future markets and geographies.
• Review, qualify, negotiate and agree client contracts to ensure risks are reduced to a minimum and that Contracting Protocols are adhered to.
• Provide guidance to the supply chain team on supplier contracts.
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders, obtain contract award approvals and execute.
• Establish effective relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers ensuring a strong communication flow and pro-active approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Manage and develop members of the Legal & Compliance team.
• Support Group activities such as Insurance renewals, M&A and financing exercises in conjunction with external advisers.
• Law Degree
• Demonstrable significant experience in the review and negotiation of contract terms
• Working knowledge of insurance requirements
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
• Strong analytical ability with excellent detail focus
• Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, and take a hands-on approach
• Positive team contributor
• Highest standards of business ethics and integrity
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Contract review expertise
• Knowledge of LOGIC, GDPR, ABC and Sanctions Compliance
• In partnership with the HSSEQ department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations and industry standards/codes.
• Reports all incidents or breaches of policy or regulations to the line manager.
• Fully endorse the ‘Stop the Job’ policy and commitment to proactive intervention where an unsafe act or condition is observed.
• Adherence to the integrated management system ensuring document control and improvements to key processes is maintained.
