Position: Tender Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Aberdeen
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm (includes a 30-minute daily break)
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tender Manager to lead the end-to-end management of UK-based tender activities—from initiation through to submission, and where successful, through to client contract sign-off. This pivotal role will work cross-functionally with teams across the business to ensure a strategic, collaborative, and well-executed approach to every stage of the tendering process.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive tender timeline, ensuring coordination across all service lines.
Create and oversee detailed, costed, and persuasive bids that align with pre-defined win strategies.
Establish and implement best-practice processes across all stages of the tender lifecycle.
Collaborate with senior management to evaluate bid opportunities, assess market positioning, and confirm commercial viability.
Conduct thorough market analysis to support informed bid/no-bid decisions.
Support pricing strategies in collaboration with Business Analysts and Finance teams.
Lead commercial and contractual negotiations, liaising with relevant internal departments.
Manage the development of proposals for both new and existing clients, ensuring compliance with commercial and contracting principles.
Perform final reviews of all proposal and contract documentation prior to leadership approval.
Oversee the preparation and management of contract variations and amendments.
Maintain and update annual tender plans in alignment with internal audit and contract review procedures.
Communicate all significant changes to contract values, service rates, or scopes clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
Strong commercial experience within the energy or related industries
Proven ability to write compelling and accurate tender submissions
Solid understanding of contracts and legal terminology
High numeracy skills and ability to interpret complex financial data
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong multitasking capabilities and ability to deliver under pressure
Excellent teamwork, creativity, and self-motivation
Strong customer focus and stakeholder management skills
Minimum:
Degree in a relevant field
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Financial background or relevant financial experience
