OBM are currently recruiting for a Materials Operative to join their Altens based clients team on a 6 month fixed term contract. 

Job Purpose:

To support and assist the Materials Management Team Leader / wider Team in the safe and efficient delivery of the receipts operation in line with agreed service level agreements and procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Activities

  • To promote and support the safe delivery of the AOB operation by promoting and following the life saving rules
  • Assist and support the delivery of the overall Shell AOB operation with the ultimate goal of zero incidents and zero NCR's
  • To assist and support the safe and efficient delivery of the Receipts front desk operation in line with the client SLA's, procedures, KPI's, timelines and schedules
  • To escalate any issues from an HSE or service delivery perspective to line management
  • To act as the initial point of contact for delivery drivers and to be courteous and helpful and to engage positively with visitors who do not comply with site rules and subsequently raising LSI's in the Live Safe Gateway
  • Responding quickly and accurately to issues/queries raised by the client on or offshore
  • Ensure positive communication between internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities
  • Basic understanding of the clients SAP system and the steps required for the pre-receipt documentation 1
  • Ensure positive relations between operational locations
  • Effective management of costs (e.g. consumables, equipment)
  • Ad-hoc duties as required in line with applicable training/competency assessments undertaken

Continuous Improvement

  • Working collectively with direct reports and wider team, try to identify improved ways of working, learning from previous mistakes or from trends of non-conformance.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement projects and activities

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships between internal and external stakeholders, and between operational sites.
  • Follow up in a professional manner any customer question, query or task within timescales identified

Health & Safety

  • Personal responsibility for undertaking LSI's.
  • Assist in ensuring excellent house-keeping is maintained across the site at all times, promoting clear segregation between people and plant.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0-5T Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck
  • 5-15T Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck
  • S-Cape
  • 0-5T Very Narrow Aisle Forklift Truck (where applicable)
  • IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent)
  • Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG) Dangerous goods by Air (IATA)
