Trainee Ships Agent – Aberdeen

Location: Aberdeen (with travel to Peterhead & Montrose as needed)

We’re recruiting a Trainee Ships Agent to join our client’s dynamic team in Aberdeen. This role supports vessel operations across Aberdeen, Peterhead, and Montrose, and is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in maritime logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day ship agency operations

• Coordinate with vessel owners, crews, and charterers

• Manage equipment sourcing and procurement

• Monitor vessel movements and update records accurately

• Ensure compliance with all HSE, legal, and company standards

• Build strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service

• Drive company vehicles to transport crew or equipment (as required)

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Good general education
✅ Full, clean UK driving licence
✅ Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills
✅ Customer-focused with a flexible, can-do attitude
✅ Willingness to travel and work varied hours

Desirable (Not Essential):

• Previous ships agency or marine industry experience

• Forklift licence (5T counterbalance)

• Dangerous Goods by Sea, COSHH or HSE awareness

• Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers
