Job Description:

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated PMO Lead / PMO Manager to join our clients team in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring the effective governance of a portfolio of projects. This role requires a leadership skills and a proven track record in taking a lead PMO role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the PMO function, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement PMO policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective project delivery.
- Oversee the portfolio of projects, providing reporting and assurance to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers and teams, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Monitor and report on the status of the project portfolio, including progress, risks, issues, and resource utilisation.
- Facilitate portfolio planning sessions, prioritizing projects based on strategic objectives and resource availability.
- Ensure effective stakeholder management and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Manage resource allocation and capacity planning to optimize project delivery.
- Implement and maintain project management tools and systems to support project delivery and reporting.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance project management capabilities within the organization.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in managing a PMO, with a strong background in portfolio management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, PPM tools).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MoP, P3O etc are desirable.

Education and Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in managing complex project portfolios.
