We are looking for an experienced Marine Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team in Ghent, Belgium.
You will take a leading role in the execution and technical design of major marine infrastructure projects. This position involves collaboration with clients, partners, and multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on delivering high-quality, compliant, and innovative design solutions.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead the design of marine infrastructure projects (e.g., ports, quay walls, jetties, locks, dikes, breakwaters, bridge foundations)
Prepare design packages from conceptual to detailed phases
Ensure compliance with Belgian and European standards, codes, and internal guidelines
Coordinate with clients, joint venture partners, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines
Guide and mentor junior engineers and CAD designers
Monitor project progress, quality, and financial performance
Propose innovative and cost-effective structural solutions
Promote integrated, multidisciplinary design approaches
Conduct technical analyses using software such as SCIA Engineer, Plaxis, Ansys, and DSheet Piling
Master of Science in Structural Engineering, with a major in Dredging and Offshore Engineering, Construction Design, or Marine Engineering
At least 5 years of experience in structural design for marine or large civil infrastructure
Strong expertise in soil-structure interaction and reinforced concrete design in complex 3D structures
Deep knowledge of Belgian and European standards and codes (ISO, EC, NEN, EAU, SB250, SB260…)
Understanding of Building Consent regulations (omgevingsvergunning) in Flanders is a plus
Experience with public contract management
