Job Description

Working on behalf of our client, we are recruiting for an experienced Bid Manager to join a business operating within the renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, and EPC sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring proposals are competitive, compliant, professionally presented, and submitted on time.

Key Duties

  • Managing the full tender lifecycle from opportunity identification through to submission and post-tender activities.

  • Reviewing tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to determine bid strategy and deliverables.

  • Coordinating contributions from engineering, design, procurement, commercial, project management, and senior leadership teams.

  • Developing bid plans, schedules, responsibilities, and submission timelines.

  • Ensuring all submissions are completed accurately and before deadline.

  • Preparing high-quality written responses to PQQs, ITTs, RFQs, and tender submissions.

  • Creating executive summaries and value propositions tailored to client requirements.

  • Maintaining consistency in branding, formatting, and quality across all submissions.

  • Supporting pricing and commercial teams in preparing cost submissions and tender clarifications.

  • Assisting with bid/no-bid decision-making processes.

  • Evaluating tender opportunities for strategic fit, profitability, and delivery capability.

  • Tracking tender outcomes and gathering client feedback to improve future success rates.

  • Acting as the central point of coordination throughout the bid process.

  • Building strong internal relationships across departments to ensure effective collaboration.

  • Supporting client engagement activities during tender and clarification phases.

  • Participating in presentations, interviews, and tender negotiations where required.

  • Maintaining a bid library containing case studies, project references, CVs, technical responses, and standard documentation.

  • Monitoring industry trends, competitor activity, and procurement developments within the renewable energy sector.

  • Developing and implementing best practice bid management processes.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in Bid Management, Proposal Management, or Tender Coordination.

  • Experience managing bids within EPC, construction, engineering, utilities, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong understanding of procurement and tendering processes.

  • Excellent written communication and document management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.

  • Experience within utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical infrastructure, or renewable energy projects would be advantageous.

  • APMP certification or equivalent bid management qualification would be advantageous.

  • Experience working with public sector procurement frameworks would be beneficial.

  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and EPC project delivery would be beneficial.

  • Familiarity with CRM and tender portal platforms would be advantageous.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong commercial awareness.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Proactive and self-motivated approach.

  • High standards of professionalism and accountability.
