Job Description
Working on behalf of our client, we are recruiting for Mechanical fitters to start work on a project in Broughton on the 17th August.
Key Duties
- Assembling large mechanical jigs and production fixtures to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Installing and fitting mechanical components to manufacturing standards.
- Using hand and power tools to accurately assemble heavy mechanical structures.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, assembly instructions and engineering documentation.
- Aligning, positioning and securing mechanical assemblies to tight tolerances.
- Carrying out mechanical adjustments and ensuring assemblies are built to specification.
- Working safely alongside lifting operations, MEWPs and forklifts where required.
- Conducting quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Reporting defects, shortages or assembly issues to supervisors and assisting with rectification.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Working collaboratively within a team to meet production deadlines and project milestones.
- Completing all work in line with site safety requirements, including EMSS National Safety Passport and Asbestos Awareness procedures where applicable.
What we are looking for
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a completed apprenticeship, or a highly experienced Mechanical Fitter with a strong mechanical assembly background (steel fitters will not be considered).
- Previous experience assembling mechanical equipment, machinery, jigs, fixtures or production line equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical assembly instructions.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable working as part of a team to meet production targets and project deadlines.
- Good attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Must have a clean criminal record
- Good communication skills with the ability to speak and understand English.
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as required.
What our client can offer in return
- £27 per hour first 40 hours
- £40.50 per hour OT
- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm OR 12pm to 8pm with additional overtime as required
- Saturday working hours from 8am-2pm
