We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking organisation operating within the built environment sector to recruit a Fire Safety Compliance & Technology Lead.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business at the forefront of fire safety and compliance, where traditional inspection services are being enhanced through innovative technology solutions.

The Role

This is a hands-on, field-based role combining fire door compliance surveying with technical analysis and client advisory. You will be responsible for assessing fire door condition and compliance across a variety of commercial buildings, producing detailed reports, and identifying opportunities to introduce smart monitoring technology designed to support ongoing fire door compliance and maintenance.

Key Duties:
  • Carry out on-site fire door surveys across a national portfolio
  • Assess compliance against current UK fire safety regulations and relevant British Standards, including BS 8214 and BS 9999
  • Review and interpret Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals and technical documentation
  • Collate and analyse survey data to identify compliant and non-compliant fire doors
  • Produce clear, client-ready reports with practical recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to enhance compliance through the adoption of fire door monitoring technology
  • Support the rollout and integration of technology solutions within client sites
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure audit-ready documentation
  • Travel extensively across the UK
What we are looking for in the successful candidate:
  • Proven experience in fire safety, compliance, or building surveying
  • Strong knowledge of fire door regulations and British Standards
  • Experience conducting site inspections and producing technical reports
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation such as O&M Manuals
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to identify added-value solutions for clients
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a field-based role
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Experience with recognised fire door inspection or certification schemes such as FIRAS or BM TRADA
  • Exposure to building safety legislation including the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Experience working with or alongside smart/building monitoring technology
