Job Description

Working on behalf of our client based in Wrexham, we are hiring for a Workshop Manager to start on a permanent basis. Our client is looking for someone to start immediately in their Workshop on the Wrexham Industrial Estate.

Key Duties
  • Allocate and distribute work to tradesmen in line with fabrication drawings issued by Project Engineers and Planners
  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products in line with BS EN 1090-2
  • Manage day-to-day operations within the fabrication workshop, including supervision of staff and involvement in recruitment
  • Oversee and control engineering processes to meet cost, programme, quality, and manufacturability targets
  • Approve or reject materials and completed work based on specifications, ensuring any non-conformances are rectified and documented

What we are looking for
  • Proven experience in a workshop supervisory or foreman role within a fabrication or steelwork environment
  • Knowledge of BS EN 1090-2 and quality inspection processes
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and the ability to translate them into shop floor tasks
  • Experience managing teams, including performance management and mentoring

  • Circa £50,000 per year depending on experience

  • Working hours- Monday-Thursday 7.30-4.30. Friday- 7.30-12.30
