The Company
Able Bridge Recruitment are once again partnering a loyal client, this time in the recruitment of a director of procurement.  The role, a newly created position will form part of the leadership team of 9 professionals. The role holder will work within a rapidly growing business who currently have a financial turnover of just under £50m.

This vacancy is the result of a tactical structure change and will form the basis of our clients investment plans.  Our client has a significant investment and development plan and will see the organisation transform into a £100m turn over business.

The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to work as part of the board of directors to build a robust leadership team that has the desire and ability to acquire significant market share.  The business is diverse and arguably eclectic, however an opportunity to join an established business in their next phase of their plans!

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Manage the supply chain to ensure competitive pricing versus secure continuity of supply.
Build relationships with key suppliers ensuring that risk is mitigated and price volatilities are managed
Maintain contract frameworks ensuring that performance, quality and SLA`s are maintained, as well as rebate periods are managed.
Management of commodity trends and price fluctuations.  This will include international price changes and geo-political situations.
Ensure compliance with buying groups to maintain global procurement protocols
Review stock levels to cash is not tied up in stock
Review of historical information to maximise procurement strategy

The Requirements
We are looking for a highly experienced and competent procurement professional to join our client`s board of directors.  You will be working in an owner managed business and will need to have the ability to genuinely influence, persuade and build relationships internally and externally.  We are looking for someone who want the “next career move” with a genuine ability to influence. Applicants will have to demonstrate a strong ability to manage stock levels, pricing and the ability to manage complex supply chains. Inventory, Procurement and relationship building skills are crucial.

Our client does not hold a license to offer study support so will only consider applicants who are able to work unrestricted within the UK and who are based in the immediate vicinity.
