Senior Cost Specialist
Location: Baghdad, Iraq

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end cost accounting activities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Execute monthly financial processes within ERP systems, including reporting, reconciliations, and follow-up actions.
- Monitor raw material inventory movements and production cost transactions across multiple sites.
- Perform inventory reconciliations and analyze material consumption variances.
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and allocations.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate significant variances.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and financial analyses.
- Manage intercompany transactions and oversee corporate cost allocation processes.
- Maintain material pricing records and prepare periodic cost and profitability analysis reports.
- Partner with Operations and G&A teams to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.
- Analyze monthly cost and expense variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; experience with Logo ERP is an advantage.
- Familiarity with SAP is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost structures, and costing methodologies.
- Experience in financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit support.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of Kurdish and/or Turkish will be considered an advantage.
